Audio: Molly Nilsson – In Real Life

perfectmidnightworld:

Where is all of this great, late year, dark pop coming from? Here I thought that we were all ready to stick a fork in it and call the year done, and things like Molly Nilsson’s History slips under the radar. GVB posted this track yesterday, and it’s been jamming my ears out ever since. In many ways, the whole album is the album that I wanted the recent Zola Jesus to be, it’s loaded with killer hooks and dark, synth-heavy pop tracks that put pop sensibilities front and center. This is a must listen for fans of John Maus, Zola Jesus, and Ariel Pink. Highest recommendation.
